ILLINOIS — After setting back-to-back records for new cases last week, and adding nearly 8,000 cases over the weekend, Illinois on Monday reported 3,113 new cases of the coronavirus and 22 additional deaths from COVID-19, the respiratory illness caused by the virus. Statewide totals now stand at 347,161 confirmed infections and 9,236 known deaths. Another 3,587 probable cases and 260 probable deaths are not included in the official totals.

The latest deaths include:

IL Sees Record 4,015 New Virus Cases, Most Deaths Since June

ILLINOIS — State health officials on Thursday reported a record 4,015 new cases of the coronavirus and 53 more deaths from COVID-19 — the most single-day deaths since June. The new case number approaches the three-day total of 5,368 new cases reported Sept. 4 caused by a data processing slowdown. The statewide totals now stand at 331,620 confirmed infections and 9,127 known deaths. Another 3,038 probable cases and 246 probable deaths are not included in the official totals.

Illinois Reports 3,059 New Coronavirus Cases, Most Since May 14

ILLINOIS — State health officials on Thursday reported 3,059 new cases of the coronavirus and 32 additional deaths from COVID-19, the respiratory illness caused by the virus. Barring the more than 5,000 cases reported on Sept. 4 as the result of a three-day backlog, Thursday’s totals represent the most cases reported in a single day since May 14 and the third highest single-day caseload of the pandemic so far. Statewide totals now stand at 310,700 confirmed infections and 8,910 known deaths. Another 2,739 probable cases and 249 probable deaths are not included in the official totals.

New COVID-19 Restrictions Warned For IL Region 6, 2,273 New Cases

ILLINOIS — A day after announcing new restrictions for Region 1 in northwestern Illinois, state health officials warned on Wednesday that new restrictions could be coming for Region 6 too, despite a low positivity rate. Meanwhile, Illinois reported 2,273 new cases of the coronavirus and 35 additional deaths from COVID-19, the respiratory illness caused by the virus, bringing the statewide totals to 293,274 confirmed infections and 8,672 known deaths. Another 2,489 probable cases and 244 probable deaths are not included in the official totals.
