Illinois Coronavirus Update July 8: 149,432 Cases, 7,099 deaths

ILLINOIS — State health officials on Wednesday announced 980 new cases of the coronavirus and 36 additional deaths from COVID-19, the respiratory illness caused by the virus. That represents an uptick in new cases, which had been fairly flat since the end of June, after falling from their peak on May 12. Deaths, which have dropped steadily since mid-June, are now back in the double digits after falling into the single digits over the holiday weekend. The statewide numbers now stand at 148,452 confirmed infections and 7,063 deaths, not counting another 1,122 probable cases and an additional 210 probable deaths.

ILLINOIS — State health officials on Monday announced 614 new cases of the coronavirus and 6 additional deaths from COVID-19, the respiratory illness caused by the virus. That ties Sunday’s death toll as the lowest since March 25, and new case numbers continue to trend downward as well. The statewide numbers now stand at 147,865 confirmed infections and 7,026 deaths, not counting another 1,122 probable cases and an additional 210 probable deaths.

The latest deaths include:

  • Champaign County: 1 female 70s, 1 male 80s

  • Cook County: 2 male 60s, 1 female 80s

194 Coronavirus Cases Confirmed In Deerfield

DEERFIELD, IL — Like every other municipality in Illinois, the Village of Deerfield has been dealing with its own unique data points regarding the coronavirus. According to the Illinois Department of Public Health, 194 people have contracted COVID-19 in Deerfield since the outbreak began. That’s an increase of five 10 cases since June 26. For further comparison, there was an increase of 10 cases between June 19-26.

ILLINOIS — State health officials on Wednesday announced 828 new cases of the coronavirus and 30 additional deaths from COVID-19, the respiratory illness caused by the virus. The statewide totals now stand at 144,013 confirmed infections and 6,951 deaths, not counting another 1,053 probable cases and an additional 201 probable deaths.
