No New Coronavirus Deaths For Second Week In Glenview

GLENVIEW, IL — Like every other municipality in Illinois, the Village of Glenview has been dealing with its own unique data points regarding the coronavirus. According to the Cook County Medical Examiner, 48 people have died due to COVID-19 in Glenview since April 7. That marks the second consecutive week since Patch has been tracking these numbers every week that there have been no new deaths. There was just one new death between June 19-26. The most deaths in a single day were four on April 14.

A spiking COVID-19 case count in Florida is straining the Sunshine State’s hospital system as nearly half of its intensive care units are at least 90% full, state data shows.

On Thursday, Florida recorded a one-day record of 120 deaths. More than 4,000 people have died there since the start of the coronavirus pandemic.

Illinois Coronavirus Update July 8: 149,432 Cases, 7,099 deaths

ILLINOIS — State health officials on Wednesday announced 980 new cases of the coronavirus and 36 additional deaths from COVID-19, the respiratory illness caused by the virus. That represents an uptick in new cases, which had been fairly flat since the end of June, after falling from their peak on May 12. Deaths, which have dropped steadily since mid-June, are now back in the double digits after falling into the single digits over the holiday weekend. The statewide numbers now stand at 148,452 confirmed infections and 7,063 deaths, not counting another 1,122 probable cases and an additional 210 probable deaths.

Illinois Coronavirus Update July 7: 147,865 Cases, 7,026 deaths

ILLINOIS — State health officials on Monday announced 614 new cases of the coronavirus and 6 additional deaths from COVID-19, the respiratory illness caused by the virus. That ties Sunday’s death toll as the lowest since March 25, and new case numbers continue to trend downward as well. The statewide numbers now stand at 147,865 confirmed infections and 7,026 deaths, not counting another 1,122 probable cases and an additional 210 probable deaths.

No New Coronavirus Deaths For 3rd Week In Arlington Heights

ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, IL — Like every other municipality in Illinois, Arlington has been dealing with its own unique data points regarding the coronavirus. According to the Cook County Medical Examiner, 31 people have died due to COVID-19 in Arlington Heights since April 8. This marks the third consecutive week since Patch has tracked this data that the municipality has gone without recording a coronavirus death. For comparison, there was an increase of five deaths between June 5-12. The most deaths in a single day were six on May 23.
