ILLINOIS — The state is headed in the wrong direction, Illinois public health director Ngozi Ezike made clear this week, asking Illinoisans to make small sacrifices now to avoid large ones later. State health officials on Thursday announced 1,772 new cases of the coronavirus — the most since May 24 — and 18 additional deaths from COVID-19, the respiratory illness caused by the virus. ILLINOIS — State health officials on Tuesday announced 1,076 new cases of the coronavirus and 30 additional deaths from COVID-19, the respiratory illness caused by the virus, bringing the statewide total to 173,731 confirmed infections and 7,446 known deaths. Another 1,242 probable cases and 192 probable deaths are not included in the official totals.

ILLINOIS — State health officials on Monday announced 1,173 new cases of the coronavirus and 6 additional deaths from COVID-19, the respiratory illness caused by the virus. That brings the statewide total to 162,748 confirmed infections and 7,301 known deaths. Another 1,175 probable cases and 193 probable deaths are not included in the official totals.
