Mass production of the life-saving shots, Canivac-Cov, could be launched as early as April to protect our furry friends, according to Russia’s Federal Service for Veterinary Supervision, Rosselkhoznadzor.

IL Reports 6,190 New Cases, 85 Deaths, As Vaccine Starts To Ship

ILLINOIS — State health officials on Monday reported 6,190 new cases of the coronavirus and 85 more deaths from COVID-19, the respiratory illness caused by the virus. New daily cases have now been below 10,000 for four days in a row, as new mitigations seem to be working across the state. Altogether, 726,304 Illinoisans have now been infected with the virus and 12,278 have died, not including another 633 probable deaths.

‘Significant step’ in development of vaccine for animals

Two potential vaccines designed to tackle Covid-19 in animals have proved successful in laboratory tests, scientists say.

Researchers at the Vaccine Group, which works with the University of Plymouth, said the development marks a significant step forward in eliminating Sars-CoV-2 in existing animal sources.

Such vaccines could also be used to ensure that cats and other pets do not incubate the virus in future outbreaks.
