GLENVIEW, IL — Like every other municipality in Illinois, the Village of Glenview has been dealing with its own unique data points regarding the coronavirus. According to the Cook County Medical Examiner, 48 people have died due to COVID-19 in Glenview since April 7. That marks the second consecutive week since Patch has been tracking these numbers every week that there have been no new deaths. There was just one new death between June 19-26. SMITHTOWN, NY — Peggy, nicknamed “the perfect pal,” was named the Smithtown Animal Shelter’s Pet of the Week. She is a 7-month-old female domestic shorthair looking for a caring home.

Peggy came to the shelter as part of the Trap-Neuter-Release program, and she instantly started looking for affection, according to shelter staff.
